Working Out!

Don't we all wish we could do that?

I am super excited about working out.  I just joined Work Out World, because my good friend, Sheena and I decided we need to get ready for bathing suit season.  We both admitted we needed someone to help motivate us to go work out.  WE ARE GOING TO BE WORK OUT BUDDIES!  So we decided we would set up 3 days a week that we would go to WOW, and if we wanted to go more we would call each other.  This whole work out thing started because our work has a program through our health insurance on losing weight, and getting a discount at fitness centers. So I hope to lose 10 lbs and tighten up my core area, and Sheena wants to lose 8 lbs.

Do you suffer from the motivation issue to, to go work out?

Wish me luck, that we can keep the motivation going to lose the weight and keep it off! :-)

Oh, to Facebook!

Facebook really became huge when I was in college in 2007.  I was currently on Myspace, which was the place to be.  I was using the networks to connect with bands and fans because I was going to school for Music Business and I was booking bands.  I got out of Myspace and just went on Facebook.  But I cannot stand either site to be honest.  I have some information of myself on Facebook, but not everything.  My privacy is high on that site.  I do post pictures from time to time, but I rarely update my status because I get sick of having to weed through everyone else's post on "hey just doin' laundry, what should I do next?".  I think to myself, are you serious?  You really need to me tell you what to do next?  And do I even care that your doing laundry?  (I do not mean to offend anyone, it's just I feel people put to much information on what they do through out their day.  It's like don't you want people to call you to see what your up to, instead of them reading what your doing every 15 minutes?) My thought on the whole status thing is; if someone really wants to know what is going on with me, they can call me, and vise versa.  I love the face to face communication better than Facebook communication.

I do like the site because I can talk to friends I haven't seen in a long time, along with family members who are over seas.  I think Facebook has a good idea going, but I think its ruin communication skills with the younger audience.  We need to focus more on communication face to face or on the phone instead of going on the internet to communicate or texting instead of calling.  Moderation in both is key!

Love

I thought I would write about Valentine's Day is approaching.

Valentine's Day was named after Saint Valentine and was established by Pope Gelasius in 500 AD.  It was deleted from the Roman calendar of Saints in 1969 by Pope Paul VI.  It is a day on which lovers express their love for each other by buying gifts or sending cards.  Valentine's Day first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages when tradition of courtly love grew.

I can't wait to see what my honey has planned for Valentine's Day.  It doesn't have to be anything extravagant.  To me its all about the thought that goes into it, like a homemade Valentine's Day card or romantic dinner at home.  I did make him a card for Valentine's Day.  It is really cute.  I will have to post a picture of it after V-Day.

I hope you all have an amazing Valentine's Day.  That it is full of love, happiness, and great memories.

My grandfather passed away on December 2010.  He was a great grandfather, but you knew not to talk about politics with him; it would go on for hours.  He was always there for me and always said in his sarcastic voice "You never came to visit us enough"!  He said I would always be his little girl no matter what.  I miss my grandfather, and wish I had spent more time with him.  I did tell him at his funeral that I would spend as much time with grandma as I could, and that I loved him so much.

My greatest memories with my grandfather are of fishing on Lake Miltona, in Alexanderia, MN, and swimming.  We also baked orange candy cookies and banana bread with my grandma. Let me tell you they never lasted long after we were done making them.  At the end of the day we would always watch CNN News and an old movie like "Tora Tora Tora".  I personally hated watching CNN, but I did it because I loved spending time with him.
